1Kosmos launches identity platform on AWS Marketplace

Fri, 5th Jun 2026 (Today)

1Kosmos has made its identity verification and passwordless authentication platform available through AWS Marketplace, giving AWS customers a direct procurement route for the software.

Organisations can use the platform to buy and deploy identity proofing, digital identity wallets and passwordless access tools across workforce, customer and partner settings within AWS environments. The system is designed to link access to a verified person rather than a credential.

The move places 1Kosmos in Amazon Web Services' software marketplace, where companies can discover, purchase and manage third-party applications alongside other tools. For software vendors, marketplace placement can shorten sales cycles by letting customers use existing AWS buying processes and consolidated billing.

Identity security suppliers have drawn growing attention as companies tighten controls around cloud access, phishing and account takeover. Demand has also risen as businesses respond to AI-driven impersonation risks and fraud targeting service desks and login systems.

1Kosmos said its platform combines identity verification, digital identity wallets and passwordless authentication in one product. It supports document and biometric proofing, phishing-resistant passwordless multi-factor authentication, and integration with existing identity and access management and Zero Trust systems.

The software is intended to work with established identity infrastructure rather than require wholesale replacement. That positioning matters for larger organisations, which often run multiple identity systems across employees, partners and customers.

Market access

By entering AWS Marketplace, 1Kosmos is seeking to reduce friction in how customers acquire its software. Marketplace listings often appeal to corporate buyers because they can simplify internal approvals, contract handling and budget allocation through a single cloud supplier relationship.

For 1Kosmos, the arrangement may also expand visibility among AWS customers already looking for identity, security and AI-related products. The marketplace route also offers streamlined procurement and consolidated billing.

The broader identity and access management market has shifted in recent years from traditional password-based systems to stronger authentication methods, particularly those that resist phishing. Vendors have increasingly tied authentication to device possession, biometrics or verified user identity in response to more sophisticated social engineering attacks.

Digital identity wallets have also become a more active area of development, with suppliers arguing that verified digital credentials can reduce reliance on usernames and passwords while improving trust in remote interactions. Businesses in regulated sectors such as banking, healthcare and telecommunications have been among the adopters of stronger identity proofing tools.

Company position

1Kosmos said it conducts millions of authentications each day for customers including banks, telecommunications providers, technology and service companies, healthcare organisations and retailers. The company has raised more than USD $72 million in venture capital funding and is based in Iselin, New Jersey.

The AWS Marketplace listing comes as identity providers seek closer alignment with large cloud platforms, where many enterprise security and access decisions now sit. Selling through a cloud marketplace can also help vendors reach customers that prefer to buy software under existing cloud spending commitments.

Hemen Vimadalal, Chief Executive Officer of 1Kosmos, linked the move to shifts in how organisations manage security risk across cloud and AI deployments. "Identity has become the primary enterprise attack surface, especially as organizations adopt cloud services and AI-driven workflows," he said.

He added: "By making the 1Kosmos platform available in AWS Marketplace, we're giving organizations a simpler way to deploy high-assurance identity verification and passwordless access that reduces risk while improving the user experience."
