Appfire launches AI tools to tackle Jira workflows

Appfire has launched two AI products and opened early access to a third workflow tool, expanding its AI portfolio for teams using Jira.
Appfire LiveRisk and Appfire QueueZero are now generally available, while Appfire JMWE Advanced has entered an Early Access Program. All three are aimed at knowledge workers and are designed to combine AI systems with human oversight.
LiveRisk is intended to bring risk management into Jira. The product uses AI to identify and assess potential risks, including cybersecurity issues, and to develop treatment plans, while leaving final decisions to risk owners.
QueueZero is designed to address backlogged work items through autonomous agents, with the aim of reducing routine workloads so teams can focus on other tasks.
JMWE Advanced is targeted at larger organisations managing complex Jira environments. It combines workflow and automation functions in a single product to help teams consolidate, govern and scale automation.
The launch comes as businesses assess how far to adopt agentic AI in day-to-day operations while maintaining controls. Appfire cited Deloitte figures showing adoption is expected to rise from 23% to 74% within two years, while 21% of companies currently have mature governance models in place.
Internal origins
The new products grew out of challenges faced by Appfire's own engineering teams, including engineering capacity, risk management and workflow automation at scale. The company believes those issues are common across larger organisations.
The move also reflects a broader shift in Appfire's product strategy. Rather than focusing only on apps that extend individual software platforms, it is moving towards products designed to help businesses run and govern work across people, software agents and multiple platforms.
That direction follows the introduction of BigPicture Advanced, which broadened Appfire's reach from project and portfolio management into strategic portfolio management. In that case, the goal was to link work in Jira with wider business priorities.
Appfire serves customers using software ecosystems such as Atlassian, Salesforce and Microsoft. More than 25,000 companies use its products, including more than 55% of the Fortune 500.
Ed Frederici, Chief Technology Officer at Appfire, described the launch as part of a wider change in how teams operate. "AI is fundamentally reshaping how modern teams work, not just how software is built," Frederici said. "Organisations don't just need AI features snapped into old tools, they need intelligent systems that surface actionable insights, eliminate manual friction, and amplify team output without sacrificing visibility or human judgment. What we're introducing is designed for that reality: delivering embedded AI intelligence that helps teams operate smarter and move faster today."
The company is also using early access and onboarding programmes to shape the next stage of development. Customers can try LiveRisk and QueueZero through free trials, while organisations interested in JMWE Advanced can register for the early access programme.
Lorna Russell, Vice President of Product Management at Appfire, said customer input would influence the products as they evolve. "We want customers to experience the value of these innovations firsthand, and play an active role in shaping where they go next," Russell said. "By working directly with customers through onboarding and our Early Access Programs, we can accelerate time to value, focus on measurable outcomes that matter across the organization, and bring real-world feedback directly into how these products evolve. It's a collaborative approach that helps us build alongside our customers and solve the challenges that matter most to their businesses."
