Bitdefender & CYPFER unite to boost global cyber response
Bitdefender has established a partnership with CYPFER to enhance incident response and recovery offerings for businesses worldwide.
The collaboration will see CYPFER's digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) expertise integrated into Bitdefender's solutions portfolio, including its GravityZone security and compliance platform, managed detection and response (MDR), and additional services.
Bitdefender's cybersecurity technology encompasses endpoint protection, endpoint detection and response, extended detection and response, and cloud-native security. With the addition of CYPFER's DFIR capabilities, the combined offerings aim to address the entire lifecycle of cyberattacks, from prevention and detection to investigation, recovery, and restoration of operations.
DFIR capabilities
The partnership brings together multiple layers of cybersecurity with the goal of minimising disruption and supporting rapid recovery for organisations facing cyber incidents. The integrated solution is described as providing a unified workflow, reducing delays and eliminating gaps between detection, investigation, and restoration efforts.
CYPFER's Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Tobok, explained the rationale for joining forces with Bitdefender:
"CYPFER is pleased to partner with Bitdefender to help close the cyber resilience loop, especially in cases requiring full-scale investigation and recovery. From early detection to forensic investigation and recovery, our partnership gives businesses the continuity, certainty, and confidence they need to withstand and overcome cyberattacks."
Bitdefender's expertise includes global threat intelligence informed by millions of endpoints, security operation centres, and dedicated research teams. This intelligence is expected to support CYPFER's forensic investigations and enhance organisations' ability to defend against and respond to emerging threats.
Protection and response
The companies emphasise several touted benefits of their partnership, including comprehensive threat prevention and multi-layered protection across the attack lifecycle, the combination of Bitdefender's global threat detection with CYPFER's recovery-led approach, and their ability to scale response efforts globally.
Andrei Florescu, President and General Manager at Bitdefender Business Solutions Group, commented on the evolving cyber threat landscape and the scope of the cooperation:
"Cyberattacks have become increasingly opportunistic, targeting organizations of every size and exploiting everything from unpatched systems to zero-day vulnerabilities. Through our partnership with CYPFER, we are extending affordable, market-leading protection, investigation, and recovery services to businesses worldwide, helping them not only defend against threats but also recover quickly and confidently in the unlikely event of a security breach."
Global reach
Both Bitdefender and CYPFER operate internationally around the clock. CYPFER's incident response teams have a presence in North America, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the UK, while Bitdefender serves customers in more than 170 countries. The partnership is intended to ensure that expert support and scalable resources can be made available and deployed quickly wherever incidents occur.
The combined offering reportedly covers every stage of cyber incident management, aiming to reduce interruptions and restore business operations efficiently. The partnership also looks to support intermediaries such as channel partners, providing them with new ways to differentiate and extend their cybersecurity services.
The integrated DFIR services are now available to organisations of all sizes as part of Bitdefender's business security suite.
