Digital firewall protecting network of computer servers from malware

Check Point scores 99.59% in top firewall security report by NSS

Fri, 7th Nov 2025

Check Point has been recognised by NSS Labs as the highest-rated vendor in the 2025 Enterprise Firewall Comparative Report, achieving a security effectiveness score of 99.59%.

The NSS Labs report evaluated leading network security firewall products on real-world attack techniques and enterprise workloads, benchmarking their resilience, reliability and ability to prevent modern cyber threats. According to the report, Check Point achieved the highest overall security effectiveness score among all tested vendors, which included a 99.91% exploit coverage rate and full protection from evasion techniques.

Industry evaluation

According to NSS Labs, the rise of artificial intelligence is accelerating both the pace and sophistication of cyber attacks, with incidents rising by 44% year-on-year. The comparative test aimed to determine how well firewalls protect against these developments in the threat landscape, including malware, exploits, false positives, and evasion resistance under stress conditions.

Check Point's performance set it apart from competitors across several categories. Results released by the company show that its firewall achieved a 99.28% malware block rate, a 99.91% exploit block rate, and a 99.35% false positive accuracy. The product also demonstrated 100% resilience during prolonged attacks and high-load conditions.

Expert perspectives

"Check Point has maintained an extraordinary level of consistency in their security effectiveness over the years," said Vikram Phatak, Chief Executive Officer at NSS Labs. "Check Point's network security firewall should be on every buyer's short list."

The NSS Labs evaluation included a focus on vendors' response to known exploited vulnerabilities, referencing the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency's (CISA) Known Exploited Vulnerability (KEV) tracking. During the relevant period, Check Point recorded only one exploited vulnerability, compared to 10 to 23 times more exploited product vulnerabilities reported by other leading vendors. According to Check Point, this finding indicates improved product integrity and minimises the need for ongoing emergency updates, reducing security risk and total cost of ownership for enterprises.

Corporate reaction

"These benchmark results reflect our relentless focus on security effectiveness. We are proud that our network security firewall outperformed every competitor in reliability and stability, setting the standard for prevention-first security," said Eyal Manor, Vice President of Product. "Check Point keeps organizations ahead of attackers with AI-driven protection across their hybrid environments."

The 2025 Enterprise Firewall Comparative Report further extends Check Point's recent streak of third-party evaluations. In a separate 2025 Miercom Enterprise and Hybrid Mesh Firewall Security Report, Check Point was also named the top provider. The company, which provides AI-driven network and hybrid mesh security solutions, points to such external test results as validation for its prevention-focused approach to cyber security.

Test details

NSS Labs' methodology subjected firewall products to testing against policy enforcement consistency, exploitation resistance, and performance under extended attack scenarios. Security effectiveness was measured across malware, exploit, and evasion resistance, in addition to resilience when operating under high loads.

Highlight results from Check Point's firewall include:

  • 99.59% overall security effectiveness, the highest score in the industry
  • 99.28% malware block rate and 99.91% exploit block rate
  • 99.35% accuracy in avoiding false positives
