cside wins awards as browser threats drive web security focus

Sat, 22nd Nov 2025

cside has received three industry awards for its focus on client-side web security, as increasing browser vulnerabilities draw attention from both enterprises and security specialists. The recognition highlights rising concern over the range and frequency of attacks exploiting web dependencies and browser-based threats.

Browser vulnerabilities

Businesses across sectors like financial services, eCommerce and digital media have adopted new strategies to manage website security. Browser-side threats, including malicious third-party scripts and session hijacking attempts, continue to bypass many traditional server-side protections.

The growing complexity of website supply chains, with numerous third-party scripts loading each time a user visits a site, has made compliance with standards such as PCI DSS 4.0.1, GDPR, and CCPA harder to achieve. Attackers increasingly target these scripts to steal payment card information and user data.

Client-side intelligence

cside's stated approach offers teams the ability to monitor, detect, and respond to runtime threats by making previously invisible activity in end-users' browsers accessible for real-time analysis. This monitoring, described as 'client-side intelligence', gives organisations greater insight into how and when attacks are launched.

Recent reports from the company highlight trends such as compromised websites using third-party dependencies and fake content delivery networks to execute attacks. OAuth flow abuse and other advanced techniques represent ongoing risks to invisible attack surfaces.

Industry response

cside was recognised as a Client-Side Protection winner in Cyber Defence Awards' Top InfoSec Innovators, listed as a top performer in the Client-Side Security category by SourceForge, and named a Stellar Startup in Security by CRN.

"Every day brings new headlines about supply-chain breaches and stolen data. Increasingly, those attacks start right inside users' browsers, with web dependency vulnerabilities that go unchecked," said Simon Wijckmans, CEO and founder, cside.

"These awards signal an industry-wide recognition of just how critical browser-side protection has become to a modern cybersecurity stack. We founded cside last year to close that gap, and to give organizations live intelligence on what actually executes in their users' sessions, not just what passes code review."

Protection challenges

Automating regulatory compliance and maintaining customer trust are key challenges for organisations handling sensitive data over the web. Security teams are seeking improved oversight of both first- and third-party scripts in order to prevent fraud and limit the risk of data leaks.

"Traditional security ends where the user's browser begins," said Mike Kutlu, Head of GTM, cside. "cside extends proactive security all the way through runtime, giving organizations the visibility and control they need to protect every digital interaction. We look forward to helping more organizations and partners secure this rapidly-growing threat vector."
