Doppel launches AI email security & human risk service

Doppel has launched its Email Security product for general availability and introduced an AI Managed Service for Human Risk Management, expanding its efforts to address phishing and other social engineering threats.

The new email product is designed to help organisations detect malicious messages and trace the infrastructure behind phishing campaigns, rather than focusing only on whether a message should be blocked or quarantined. It combines inbox telemetry with external threat intelligence to help security teams investigate attacks and respond to broader campaigns.

The launch comes amid growing concern among cyber security teams that AI tools are making phishing attacks more convincing and shrinking the time available to investigate them. Doppel argues this is increasing pressure on defenders who still rely on manual workflows to analyse messages, adjust policies, and understand how separate alerts may be connected.

According to Doppel, the email security system uses AI agents to inspect message content, sender behaviour, and attacker infrastructure. It links those signals to what it calls its Threat Graph, which maps external infrastructure associated with malicious campaigns.

The product is intended to identify attacks that may not be visible to tools that look only at inbox activity. It can also support takedowns of malicious sending infrastructure and harmful links, and that capability can extend to domains, fake profiles, and impersonation kits when used with Doppel's Digital Risk Protection product.

"Legacy email security vendors are still optimizing for better scoring and faster quarantine, but that is not enough to protect customers from modern social engineering," said Kevin Tian, co-founder and chief executive officer of Doppel.

"Doppel Email Security is built to go further by connecting inbox activity to the infrastructure behind the attack and helping security teams disrupt the broader campaign. With general availability, we are delivering on our vision for a unified platform that fuses our Digital Risk Protection external intel with our Email Security internal telemetry," Tian said.

The company also unveiled AI Managed Service for Human Risk Management, designed to automate employee security awareness and phishing simulation programmes. Customers set goals, organisational context, and guardrails at the outset, after which the AI system designs, runs, and adjusts the programme over time.

Human risk

The new managed service addresses a longstanding challenge for smaller or stretched security teams, which often must choose campaign themes, scheduling, target groups, difficulty levels, and follow-up training with limited staff. Doppel said the service uses employee behaviour, phishing triage data, and threat intelligence to refine those decisions continuously.

Functions described by the company include one-time setup of programme parameters, automated creation and scheduling of simulation scenarios, and ongoing optimisation based on observed employee responses and live threat information. The aim is to reduce the ongoing administration required to run awareness programmes.

"Security teams should not have to choose between running an effective Human Risk Management program and focusing on the dozens of other priorities competing for their attention," said Rahul Madduluri, co-founder and chief technology officer of Doppel.

"AI Managed Service allows teams to set their objectives and guardrails once, then rely on agentic AI to design, run, and improve the program continuously. This approach demonstrates how agentic systems can reduce operational burden while strengthening defenses across both technical controls and human risk," Madduluri said.

Doppel is positioning the two launches as part of a broader platform strategy linking email security, digital risk monitoring, and employee risk management through a shared intelligence layer. It describes that model as a way to follow attacks across different stages, from infrastructure setup to attempted compromise.

An early user pointed to the value of additional investigative context when analysts are under time pressure. "Security teams are expected to make high-confidence decisions in minutes, often with incomplete information," said Giuseppe Petracca, lead detection and response security engineer at AngelList.

"Doppel Email Security provides the additional context and evidence needed to understand why an email is malicious, giving analysts greater confidence in every decision. By enriching detections with actionable intelligence instead of isolated signals, it reduces investigative effort, accelerates response, and helps teams consistently make better, data-driven security decisions," Petracca said.

Doppel said Email Security is available in the AMER and APAC regions, while AI Managed Service is available to customers using its Human Risk Management offering.
