DSi Compliance hires David Whipple to drive US growth

Fri, 6th Feb 2026

DSi Compliance has appointed Captain David P. Whipple, Jr. as Chief Business Development Advisor for North America, as it steps up its push into the US market for compliance and analytical software.

Whipple will focus on expanding DSi Compliance's presence across the United States, with an emphasis on law enforcement and regulated industries such as banking and insurance. He will also concentrate on introducing the company's DS-Keywords product to prospective customers and partners.

US expansion

DSi Compliance operates across the UK and US, providing GDPR consultancy, AI governance, digital forensics, cyber investigations and broader data compliance services. The appointment signals a stronger effort to build North American demand for tools that sit at the intersection of investigations, security operations and regulatory oversight.

The role centres on relationship-building with federal, state and local law enforcement bodies, starting in the New York and New Jersey area and then expanding further afield. It also includes business development with corporate clients seeking analytics to support compliance activity, fraud detection and risk management.

Whipple brings more than 25 years of public safety and security leadership experience, which DSi Compliance says aligns with the operational requirements of policing and the growing overlap between investigative work and corporate compliance programmes.

"David's extensive background in law enforcement, combined with his strategic approach to security operations and data analysis, makes him ideally suited to help us expand our footprint in North America," said Bradley Geppert, CEO of DSi Compliance. "His deep relationships within the law enforcement community and his understanding of the challenges faced by both public and private sector organizations will be invaluable as we introduce DS-Keywords to the U.S. market."

Product focus

DS-Keywords is DSi Compliance's analytical tool for searching and reviewing audio, video and text materials. It uses artificial intelligence and natural language processing to transcribe content and flag occurrences of predefined keywords and phrases.

It also includes bulk upload functions designed to process large volumes of recordings, and supports multiple languages, dialects and slang, according to the company.

DSi Compliance says the product is suited to investigations and corporate compliance, and points to use cases in fraud detection and risk management-areas that often involve large quantities of unstructured material from calls, meetings, interviews and other sources.

Whipple's responsibilities include delivering product demonstrations and technical presentations to law enforcement agencies, corporate security teams and legal partners. This work is expected to support DSi Compliance's broader US market development strategy, where procurement cycles can involve both technology assessment and policy scrutiny.

Operational background

Before joining DSi Compliance, Whipple served as Detective Captain and Director of the Police Training Institute at the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office in New Jersey. He oversaw continuing education for more than 700 law enforcement officers.

He also served as Deputy Commander of the Somerset County Emergency Response Team, overseeing SWAT, Dive and Negotiator units. Earlier roles included managing major crimes, special investigations, organised crime and narcotics units, directing investigations, and supervising a criminal asset seizure programme.

Whipple has also managed funding linked to training and operational programmes, including federal grant management and audit coordination.

DSi Compliance highlighted his emergency preparedness and crisis management experience, including supervising FEMA and multiple agencies during hurricane and pandemic response operations. He has also directed Crisis Intervention Team operations and developed internal affairs training programmes.

Credentials

Whipple graduated from Rutgers University with a Master of Public Administration, where he was valedictorian, according to DSi Compliance. His listed certifications include FBINA Class 291, and he is pursuing ASIS Certified Protection Professional certification.

His training includes critical infrastructure protection, the FEMA Incident Command System and active shooter threat mitigation. The company also cited experience with CPTED, a crime prevention approach focused on environmental design.

The hire comes as DSi Compliance expands its AI governance and data compliance services in North America. The company also noted that Whipple's work integrating forensic analysis solutions and AI-based security technology into corporate compliance frameworks has been featured in NJ Police Chief Magazine.

"I'm excited to join DSi Compliance and help bring DS-Keywords to organizations that can benefit most from its capabilities," said Whipple. "The ability to analyze large amounts of data efficiently is becoming increasingly critical for law enforcement investigations and corporate compliance. I look forward to demonstrating how this technology can transform operations for our clients in both the public and private sectors."
