Yesterday

HackerOne has appointed Nidhi Aggarwal as Chief Product Officer, expanding its executive team as it develops its AI-powered security platform.

Nidhi Aggarwal's appointment is part of HackerOne's ongoing efforts to unify its product portfolio and scale human security expertise by leveraging AI technologies. The company has recently introduced new capabilities to its platform, including features for enhanced vulnerability management and integrations with various enterprise tools.

Focus on AI-driven security

The move comes as HackerOne further invests in building an integrated platform designed to accelerate vulnerability discovery and remediation through the combination of human ingenuity and artificial intelligence. Recent updates to its AI security agent, Hai, now allow for capabilities such as Program Insights, Benchmarks, Recommendations, Findings, and automated Return on Mitigation (RoM) calculations.

HackerOne has also enhanced its ecosystem with integrations to ServiceNow, Secure Code Warrior, and GitLab. These additions are intended to streamline workflows and expand enterprise-grade functionality, enabling organisations to prioritise and address vulnerabilities more effectively.

Background and expertise

Nidhi Aggarwal brings over 15 years of experience to her new role, having previously co-founded Qwiklabs, a cloud configuration platform acquired by Google. She has held executive positions at Tamr, specialising in AI-driven master data management, and gained further experience at companies including Wellington, Hewlett Packard Labs, VMware, and McKinsey & Company. Aggarwal holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and serves on the Board of Visitors for the Computer Science department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was recognised with an Early Career Achievement Award.

As Chief Product Officer and a member of the leadership team, Aggarwal will oversee the execution of HackerOne's product strategy, ensuring the suite of tools continues to support both detection and remediation of vulnerabilities with the added efficiency of AI-powered assistance.

Leadership comments

"Nidhi's appointment will accelerate HackerOne's leadership in the AI era. She brings the strategic clarity and operational depth to drive execution of our AI-centric platform vision, deliver more customer value, and ensure that innovation remains at the heart of everything we do," said Kara Sprague, CEO of HackerOne.

Aggarwal also noted the opportunity for AI to transform security for organisations and researchers alike, stating:

"HackerOne has a unique opportunity to redefine security in the AI era. By combining human expertise with the power of AI, we're uniquely positioned to deliver high-quality security findings with unprecedented scale and speed. Our AI-powered platform accelerates vulnerability discovery, triage, and response while equipping both security researchers and customers with intelligent tools and real-time insights. I'm excited to join this exceptional team to build a next-generation platform that enables security and development teams to find and fix vulnerabilities before adversaries can exploit them."

Product updates and platform vision

Under Aggarwal's leadership, HackerOne plans to advance its AI-centric product vision, focusing on delivering actionable intelligence and automation to help customers address emerging security challenges. The company's ongoing updates to its platform include new analytical tools, automated RoM calculations tailored to customer data, and increased interoperability with other enterprise software suites.

The appointment aligns with HackerOne's emphasis on strengthening both its technological capabilities and human-centred expertise, positioning itself to address the evolving needs of its clients in the changing security landscape. The company's platform is used by a range of large organisations, with case studies including global technology, automotive, financial, and government entities.

Aggarwal's broad experience in product leadership and development will inform the direction of HackerOne's portfolio as it continues to combine AI tools with input from its global community of security researchers.
