Imprivata appoints Joel Burleson-Davis as new chief technology officer

Imprivata has announced the appointment of Joel Burleson-Davis as its new Chief Technology Officer.

Burleson-Davis joins the CTO role after most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Engineering for cyber security and data science at Imprivata, bringing over 15 years of technology leadership to the position.

His career prior to joining Imprivata included serving as Chief Technology Officer at SecureLink, where he was responsible for the overall technology and operational strategy of the organisation across areas such as Product Development, Quality Assurance, IT, Cybersecurity Operations, Compliance, and Customer Success.

At SecureLink, Burleson-Davis led the company's technology and operational strategy before it was acquired by Imprivata in 2022. He later took on the role of SVP of Worldwide Engineering, Cyber at Imprivata, managing the company's suite of cybersecurity products including Privileged Access Management, Privacy Monitoring, and Identity Governance solutions.

During his tenure as SVP of Worldwide Engineering, Cyber, Burleson-Davis was responsible for the development and evolution of Imprivata's cybersecurity and data products, including but not limited to Privileged Access Security and Access Compliance.

Before joining SecureLink, Burleson-Davis held positions in Systems Engineering, IT Consulting, and as an Instructor. He was also a founding member of The Linux Foundation certification committee, collaborating with key Linux subject matter experts at a global level.

In his new capacity as CTO, Burleson-Davis will be working closely with product and engineering leaders at Imprivata to define and implement a technology vision geared towards business growth and customer value. His remit will include advancing Imprivata's long-term strategy, nurturing the company's research and development culture, and representing the efficacy of Imprivata's solutions to help customers achieve strong security, streamlined workflows, and consistent success amid evolving technology demands and market conditions.
