Rogo & Snowflake deepen AI data tie-up for finance

Rogo and Snowflake have extended their integration to let financial institutions use governed Snowflake data inside Rogo's AI platform, while keeping that data within Snowflake's security and governance perimeter.

The move targets banks, investors and other finance groups that already store sensitive proprietary information in Snowflake but want to use it in AI-driven workflows. The integration allows Rogo's AI agents to work with that data without requiring institutions to move it outside their existing controlled environment.

For many firms, the challenge has been applying advanced AI tools to internal datasets while preserving the controls already embedded in their data infrastructure. In practice, that has often meant building separate pipelines for each dataset or adding extra middleware between a data platform and an AI application.

Under the extended integration, Rogo connects to Snowflake through Snowflake's managed Model Context Protocol server. Customer data remains subject to the governance rules already in place within Snowflake, including role-based access controls and data masking.

Access is authenticated using OAuth 2.0, and customers decide which datasets are made available to Rogo and what level of access is granted. This allows AI agents to discover and query data securely without the need for separate infrastructure.

Finance focus

Rogo focuses on financial services, where large institutions often hold valuable market, research and internal operating data in tightly governed systems. The Snowflake connection is intended to enable customers to bring that proprietary information into research and analysis workflows within Rogo's platform while maintaining established oversight.

The integration also builds on an existing relationship between the companies' engineering and product teams. Earlier collaboration included work on query performance and on handling low-latency, high-concurrency access patterns for data used in AI-related workloads.

The latest step reflects a broader push across the technology sector to make AI tools usable with regulated and commercially sensitive datasets. Financial institutions have been among the more cautious adopters because of concerns over data exposure, internal permissions and the risk of weakening long-standing governance policies.

By keeping information inside Snowflake's perimeter, the company aims to address those concerns directly. Rather than exporting data into a separate AI stack, the model is designed to let firms query governed information where it already resides.

Rogo said the Snowflake MCP connection is one of several data sources it supports. It also said it intends to apply the same connect-once model to other datasets and sources over time, suggesting a broader effort to reduce integration work for customers with multiple repositories of financial and research data.

Executive views

The companies presented the arrangement as a way to operate within established customer data practices rather than requiring clients to rebuild those practices.

Snowflake said the deeper tie-up extends its existing collaboration with Rogo and gives shared customers a way to use AI analysis on internal data while preserving the controls attached to that data inside Snowflake.
