Securin appoints AI expert Dr. Mukkamala as new CEO

Yesterday

Securin has appointed Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala as Chief Executive Officer, signifying a shift towards prioritising artificial intelligence-driven cybersecurity solutions within the company.

Dr. Mukkamala brings experience as founder of RiskSense, which was acquired by Ivanti in 2021. During his tenure at RiskSense, he provided risk-based security solutions to 88 Fortune 100 firms, and later served as Chief Product Officer at Ivanti. His background also includes serving as Chief Scientist for the Department of Defense's Computational Analysis of Cyber Terrorism against the US (CACTUS) project, analysing cyber threats with a focus on exploit feasibility. This work laid the foundation for Adversarial Exposure Validation (AEV), a method to empirically validate potential cyber-attack scenarios.

According to Securin, Dr. Mukkamala's leadership reflects the company's commitment to advancing AEV and securing AI models, workloads, and modern infrastructure, including software and cloud operations, through proactive, AI-driven measures. The company's focus is now centred on Automated Penetration Testing and AI Red Teaming as part of its innovation strategy.

"Cybersecurity must evolve as fast as attackers do, and AI is key to staying ahead. Securin's expertise in Adversarial Exposure Validation, powered by Automated Penetration Testing and AI Red Teaming, positions us to deliver unmatched threat visibility and resilience. I look forward to guiding the team as we build solutions that unify enterprise security, deliver attacker-focused threat perspectives, and use AI to make threat detection, validation, and response more precise and scalable," Dr. Mukkamala stated.

Under Dr. Mukkamala's leadership, Securin has outlined three main strategic priorities. First, it is focusing on comprehensive AI security through AEV by leveraging Automated Penetration Testing and AI Red Teaming to validate AI models and workloads, helping organisations securely adopt and scale AI technologies. Secondly, the company aims to achieve unified enterprise protection by deploying AI-driven insights, continuous penetration testing, and red team simulations, simplifying security efforts across varied cloud and software environments. Lastly, Securin will place emphasis on smarter threat visibility and prioritisation by combining attacker behaviour modelling, AI-enhanced exploit validation, and in-house threat intelligence to offer precise, actionable insights for security operations.

The company's AEV platform is designed to proactively identify and counter threats that may not be detected by traditional solutions. Unlike conventional security approaches reliant on siloed tools or standard vulnerability models such as CVSS, Securin's platform dynamically evaluates combinations of vulnerabilities, simulates real-world attack scenarios, and validates exploitability through AI-powered red team exercises. To further broaden defence capabilities, the platform incorporates continuously updated threat intelligence from Securin's own research team, enabling organisations to anticipate and manage risks in complex digital environments.

"Sri's unwavering product-first mindset, coupled with his deep expertise in AI security, uniquely positions him to lead Securin in realizing its bold vision. His leadership is exactly what the company needs at this pivotal moment," Rohini Kasturi, Chief Executive Officer of HG Insights and Board Member at Securin, said, commenting on the appointment.

This leadership transition reinforces Securin's position in proactive cybersecurity, aiming to help organisations adapt to changing threats through the adoption of intelligent, AI-driven solutions. Dr. Mukkamala's appointment is expected to enable the company to expand the capabilities of its AEV platform and address the evolving security demands facing enterprises.
