Silent Push unveils Chrome tool for real-time threat response

Today

Silent Push has launched a Chrome extension intended to provide enterprise security teams with immediate access to browser-sourced threat intelligence and enhanced controls for acting on cybersecurity indicators.

The extension is designed for use by Security Operations Centre (SOC), Incident Response (IR), and Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) teams, offering them new capabilities to identify and act upon cyber threats as they emerge during browser usage. Silent Push also announced new and ongoing integration partnerships to extend the impact of its platform, including a new relationship with Filigran—developer of the OpenCTI platform—and continued collaboration with ThreatConnect.

Simone Filiaggi, Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst at Box, commented on the utility of the extension by stating, "The Silent Push Chrome Extension makes it a lot easier to access actionable, and high-quality threat intelligence. It's easy to use and improves our ability to detect and respond to threats including quick pivots into the Silent Push platform for a deep dive into adversary infrastructure."

The Chrome extension connects threat data surfaced during browser activity directly back to the main Silent Push platform, allowing security personnel to quickly investigate suspicious links and infrastructure while maintaining workflow within the browser. The tool operates bidirectionally, allowing for faster detection and action on potential threats.

Ken Bagnall, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Silent Push, explained the company's commitment to enhancing enterprise cyber defenses. He said, "We are committed to providing our customers with the solutions and resources they need to protect themselves from an attack and maintain business resilience.

"Our Chrome Extension is bidirectional and makes it easier and faster to action. It acts as an integration into any of your SaaS platforms. By working directly in your browser through our extension, security teams now have the power to pivot control anywhere on the Internet. Through our integration partnerships and upcoming Abuse Reporting service, we are strengthening our capabilities and commitment so that security teams have the resources they need to identify adversary infrastructure before an attack is launched," Ken Bagnall said.

The company's new integration partnership with Filigran seeks to provide joint customers with enhanced visualisation and analytic tools via the OpenCTI platform. Jan Johansen, Senior Vice President of Global Alliances at Filigran, stated, "As a new integration partner, our joint customers will benefit from our better together offering of leading threat intelligence from Silent Push leveraged through our OpenCTI platform featuring comprehensive visualizations and analytic tools. This is the best of both worlds to fully enable security teams to protect their organization."

Silent Push also maintains its ongoing partnership with ThreatConnect, which aims to deliver a consistent user experience while increasing threat detection capabilities across customer environments. Andrew Pendargast, Chief Product Officer at ThreatConnect, said, "Our long-standing integration partnership with Silent Push enables our joint customers to further their journey towards a fully threat and risk-informed cyber defense. The new Chrome Extension, which offers defenders a far faster time to detect emerging threats, is a great example of the innovation the industry has come to expect from Silent Push."

The new extension is positioned as an answer to the limitations of traditional Indicator of Compromise (IOC)-based security approaches, which often respond only after an attack has occurred. Silent Push promotes its proprietary Indicators of Future Attack (IOFA)TM data as a capability that offers an early warning system to pre-empt emerging threats. The Chrome extension extends this functionality directly to enterprise users' browsers, allowing teams to act swiftly as risks are identified in real time.

The Chrome extension is currently available exclusively to enterprise customers and can be accessed via the Chrome Web Store. The Silent Push platform, which includes API integration options for various security frameworks such as SIEM, XDR, SOAR, TIP, and OSINT, is in use by large enterprises and government agencies globally.
