Tanium joins Microsoft Sentinel ecosystem for enhanced security

Tue, 7th Oct 2025

Tanium has announced its inclusion in the Microsoft Sentinel partner ecosystem, aiming to enhance integrated security operations through collaboration with Microsoft.

Partnership details

Tanium's selection as a partner was based on its experience with Microsoft Security technologies, willingness to trial and provide feedback on new functionalities, and its close working relationship with Microsoft. The partnership supports the development of new integrated security solutions leveraging both companies' technology platforms.

Harman Kaur, Vice President of AI at Tanium, outlined the partnership's objectives and the expected impact on security operations:

"Tanium delivers comprehensive, real-time endpoint intelligence through our AEM platform - which powers AI and automation. By pairing Tanium's endpoint management and insights with Microsoft Sentinel's platform, organisations can investigate threats faster, uncover long-term trends, and take proactive measures with real-time remediation to strengthen their overall security posture."

Microsoft Sentinel evolution

Microsoft Sentinel has been evolving beyond its traditional role as a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution. The platform is now positioned as an AI-ready security tool, providing unified data collection, intelligent analysis, and context-rich visibility to enable precise security action. Vasu Jakkal, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft Security, described the update to Sentinel and the importance of its partner ecosystem:

"We've reimagined Microsoft Sentinel as an AI-ready platform, unifying security data into a single, enriched data lake that delivers graph-powered visibility and intelligent agent capabilities. This transformation positions Microsoft Sentinel as the backbone of modern defense, offering deep context, connected insights, and empowering security teams to act with precision, and stay ahead of evolving threats. This transformation is amplified by a vibrant partner ecosystem. We are grateful to our partners that use Microsoft Sentinel to create integrated solutions. This collaboration powers a collective defense, because after all- security is a team sport."

Technical collaboration

Tanium is currently working alongside Microsoft product teams to help shape the direction of the Sentinel platform. This includes validating new scenarios, providing operational feedback, and supporting extensions of the platform's API capabilities. Tanium's contributions as a partner will also involve creating solutions such as data connectors, analytic modules, playbooks, threat hunting queries, Jupyter notebook jobs, and Security Copilot agents. These additions are designed to leverage Sentinel's open architecture and advanced analytics, with the aim of making new security tools accessible to customers globally.

By using Tanium's Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM) capabilities in conjunction with Microsoft Sentinel's security features, customers can streamline asset discovery, vulnerability management, endpoint management, incident response, and compliance monitoring at scale. Both organisations state that the integration will allow security teams to quickly detect and respond to threats while maintaining oversight across diverse digital environments.

Industry reach

Tanium's endpoint management platform currently supports over 35 million endpoints worldwide, including deployments covering 40% of the Fortune 100. The collaboration with Microsoft Sentinel is intended to further strengthen the security posture and operational efficiency of organisations operating at both regional and global scales, providing real-time intelligence and automation in response to increasingly complex threat landscapes.
