Tenable unveils Identity 360 & Exposure Center solutions

Yesterday

Tenable has launched two new features, Identity 360 and Exposure Center, designed to enhance identity risk detection and response, addressing the growing challenge of identity-based cyber threats.

The company said the new capabilities provide organisations with a unified view of identity-related security risks, helping them identify vulnerabilities and take targeted action to prevent potential attacks.

"Compromised identities are at the root of nearly every successful cyberattack," said Shai Morag, Chief Product Officer at Tenable. "Today, 75% of organisations manage two or more identity solutions, leading to increased complexity around identity security. Tenable Identity Exposure ensures that organisations have full visibility into their identity risks and provides actionable remediation guidance so organisations can swiftly and confidently prevent attacks before they occur."

Addressing identity sprawl and security challenges

Tenable said identity sprawl—a proliferation of accounts, permissions, and misconfigurations across multiple platforms—has made identity management more complex. This fragmentation limits visibility, weakens access controls, and increases the risk of privilege escalation and lateral movement by attackers.

The combination of Identity 360 and Exposure Center aims to simplify this complexity by offering a centralised view of identity risks across different identity providers. Tenable said this consolidated approach helps organisations proactively identify and address security weaknesses before they can be exploited.

Key features of Identity 360 and Exposure Center

The new capabilities offer several features, including:

  • 360-Degree Identity Visibility and Risk Prioritisation: Organisations gain a unified view of accounts, entitlements, roles, groups, and relationships across Active Directory and Entra ID. Identity 360 consolidates this information into detailed identity profiles for more effective risk management.
  • Centralised Weakness Management and Streamlined Remediation: Security teams can manage identity-related vulnerabilities—such as privilege misconfigurations, excessive permissions, stale accounts, and risky trust relationships—through a single interface. Remediation is simplified with detailed guidance and one-click PowerShell scripts.
  • AI-Driven Identity Asset Exposure Score (AES): An AI-powered risk scoring system helps organisations identify and prioritise the most critical identity weaknesses.

Tenable said these enhancements enable organisations to continuously monitor identity-related security risks and take proactive measures to strengthen their overall cybersecurity posture.
