Dynatrace unveils agentic AI push with new platform tools

Fri, 30th Jan 2026

Dynatrace has announced a set of product updates centred on what it calls Dynatrace Intelligence, alongside expanded integrations across major public cloud platforms and new Real User Monitoring features.

The company detailed the changes at its annual Perform user conference in Las Vegas. Dynatrace positioned the updates around agentic AI, cloud operations and developer tooling. It also highlighted customer deployments, including TELUS.

Dynatrace said its latest product direction responds to organisations facing rising volumes of operational data and more complex technology estates. The company said many enterprises also face pressure to adopt AI across their operations and products.

Dynatrace Intelligence

Dynatrace introduced Dynatrace Intelligence as the next stage of its platform. The company described it as a combination of deterministic intelligence and agentic AI.

Dynatrace said the deterministic element draws on "real-time causal context". It said the agentic element can "reason, decide, and act within defined guardrails".

The company said it stores and unifies data in Grail. It said Smartscape adds a "causal topology" that continuously enriches the data. Dynatrace linked that approach to explainability and reliability of insights.

Agents and workflows

Dynatrace also announced Dynatrace Intelligence Agents. The company said the agents can take actions across workflows. It described the approach as "agentic operations".

Dynatrace said the agents target "closed-loop autonomous outcomes across IT and business operations". It also said customers can use specialised agents that work together across different responsibilities and domains.

Cloud integrations

Dynatrace announced expanded cloud-native integrations across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. The company said the additions aim to provide a more unified view across multi-cloud environments.

Dynatrace said the updated integrations consolidate visibility. It said teams can identify and resolve issues more quickly and reduce disruption for end users.

The company linked the cloud operations work to its Grail data layer, Smartscape dependency graph and Dynatrace Intelligence. It said that the combination applies AI across "growing complexity" in modern environments.

Developer tooling

Dynatrace also announced updates it said enhance the developer experience. It said the changes evolve observability into "an active system of control for cloud and AI-native software delivery".

The company said the updated experience brings together frontend and backend telemetry with AI telemetry, database data, cloud data, and mobile data. It said the experience sits on top of Grail, Smartscape and Dynatrace Intelligence.

Dynatrace also referred to "agentic and LLM-driven applications" and described a "production-first" approach. It said humans and AI agents can "reason about live system behavior". It also said teams can "safely experiment in production" and take action when risk is detected without redeployments or manual intervention.

Customer examples

Dynatrace said it showcased customers from multiple industries. It said organisations used Dynatrace AI Observability in initiatives related to business growth.

Dynatrace also described its platform as "the control plane for AI in production". It said customers use the platform for visibility and governance as they adopt agentic AI at scale. The company said use cases included TELUS.

Real User Monitoring

Dynatrace announced what it called next-generation Real User Monitoring. The company said the product combines front-end telemetry with back-end context.

Dynatrace said traditional RUM tools "are hitting limitations" as organisations adopt cloud-native architectures and build AI-driven applications that use large language models and other AI services.

The company said users can analyse frontend data alongside logs, metrics, traces, and business events on a single platform. It linked that approach to end-to-end visibility and faster troubleshooting.

"Dynatrace is advancing observability for today's digital businesses, helping to transform the complexity of modern digital ecosystems into powerful business assets," said Rick McConnell, CEO, Dynatrace.

The company said additional product and platform updates related to agentic AI would be discussed during Perform sessions.
